About the Role

As an Industrial Electrical & Automation Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, wiring, testing, maintenance, and optimization of machinery, industrial equipment, and automation systems.

You will work closely with Project Managers, PLC Programmers, Commissioning Engineers, Mechanical Technicians, and customer teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

As part of our international automation network, approximately 90% of travel is within the United States, supporting customer installations, automation projects, production startups, service assignments, and machine upgrades.

The remaining 10% of travel may involve international assignments, including Europe and other global customer locations, depending on project requirements and resource needs.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, certification, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electricity, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Experience in industrial electrical installation, machine wiring, panel building, automation systems, or industrial maintenance preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Experience with industrial control systems, sensors, motors, drives, and safety circuits
  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems and machine controls is an advantage
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Independent and detail-oriented work style
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Customer-focused attitude and professional appearance
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Deine Aufgabe

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and wire industrial machinery, automation systems, and production equipment
  • Assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels and automation systems
  • Install and connect sensors, actuators, motors, drives, safety systems, and industrial control devices
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Perform electrical inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and verification activities
  • Support machine installations, commissioning activities, and production startups
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and service work on industrial machinery and automation systems
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation-related issues
  • Support machine upgrades, modifications, and expansion projects
  • Assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Work closely with PLC Programmers, Commissioning Engineers, Mechanical Technicians, and customers
  • Prepare service reports, inspection records, and technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, electrical standards, and company procedures
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Support domestic and international customer projects as required

Travel & International Collaboration

  • Approximately 90% domestic travel within the United States
  • Approximately 10% international travel, including Europe and other global customer locations
  • Support customer installations, startup activities, maintenance projects, and service assignments
  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and UAH teams worldwide
  • Support international projects when additional resources are required
  • Ability to travel on short notice when project schedules require additional support
