About the Role

As a Mechatronics & Automation Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, wiring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of machinery, equipment, and automation systems.

You will work closely with Project Managers, PLC Programmers, Commissioning Engineers, Mechanical Technicians, and customer teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

As part of our international automation network, approximately 90% of travel is within the United States, supporting customer installations, machinery relocations, automation projects, production startups, and service assignments.

The remaining 10% of travel may involve international assignments, including Europe and other global customer locations, depending on project requirements and resource needs.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, certification, or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Automation Technology, or a related field
  • Experience in machine building, industrial automation, equipment installation, maintenance, or field service preferred
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical systems, pneumatics, sensors, motors, and industrial equipment
  • Experience with industrial wiring, control panels, and machine installations
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment and common mechanical tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Independent and detail-oriented work style
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Customer-focused attitude and professional appearance
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Deine Aufgabe

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install machinery, equipment, and automation systems according to engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation
  • Perform electrical and mechanical installation of machinery, automation equipment, and industrial systems
  • Wire control panels, automation systems, conveyors, and production equipment
  • Install, connect, and test sensors, actuators, drives, motors, and other automation components
  • Support machine commissioning, startup, and production launch activities
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on machinery and automation systems
  • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and expansion projects
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections, testing, and quality checks
  • Verify machine functionality and ensure systems meet operational requirements
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues
  • Assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Work closely with PLC Programmers, Commissioning Engineers, Mechanical Technicians, and customers
  • Create service reports, installation records, and technical documentation
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality
  • Support domestic and international customer projects as required

Travel & International Collaboration

  • Approximately 90% domestic travel within the United States
  • Approximately 10% international travel, including Europe and other global customer locations
  • Support customer installations, machine relocations, service assignments, and automation projects
  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and UAH teams worldwide
  • Support international projects when additional resources are required
  • Ability to travel on short notice when project schedules require additional support
