Senior Manager Automation Projects (Hybrid, Remote (m/w))

As Senior Manager Automation Operations, you will lead the operational execution of automation and new installation projects for our European industrial customers.

You will serve as the primary interface between customers, internal departments, and external partners, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.Working closely with Business Development, Service (Taskforce X), and regional sales partners, you will guide customers from requirements analysis and proposal development through successful project execution.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
• Several years of experience in industrial automation
• Strong understanding of PLC systems, commissioning, and industrial processes
• Experience managing multiple automation projects simultaneously
• Experience with proposals, cost estimates, and statements of work
• Structured, solution-oriented, and decisive working style
• Native-level German and excellent English communication skills
• Willingness to travel regularly

Work Model

• Hybrid or fully remote
• Regular presence in Altenburg is preferred but not required
• Regular customer travel is expected

• Lead automation, new installation, and expansion projects for European customers
• Plan, coordinate, and manage projects from initial requirements through implementation
• Conduct regular customer meetings, project reviews, and expectation management
• Collaborate closely with Assembly, Engineering, and Software teams
• Oversee project scheduling and resource planning
• Support proposal preparation and quotation development
• Coordinate commercial topics with Accounting
• Work closely with travel and deployment coordinators
• Partner with Business Development, Service Management, and Regional Sales teams
• Ensure smooth transitions from project implementation into service and support structures

You do not have direct supervisory responsibility for team members; however, you are responsible for the planning, coordination, and operational management of projects in close collaboration with the respective functional departments.
